We strive to create individualized treatment plans for each of our patients as each person has a unique history and unique needs. Some of our services include:
Arthroscopic Surgery
Arthroscopy is the use of a small diameter scope placed through small incisions called “portals” to treat conditions of the joint involved. It involves minimally invasive surgical techniques to correct and repair injured or damaged tissues. The procedure results in small scars and leads to the more rapid recovery and shortened rehabilitation time for the patient.
Dr Gonzalez has been performing arthroscopy since the technique was in its infancy. He originally performed arthroscopy by looking directly into the eyepiece of the scope in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s, before the use of the camera attached to the scope was in widespread use. He has evolved with the technology and techniques for both shoulder and knee arthroscopic procedures.
PRP Injection
Stem cells are cells in the human body that can divide into more specialized cells such as bone, muscle, nerve and cartilage cells. This has great promise in the treatment of various musculoskeletal conditions to include osteoarthritis. Stem cells are given by injection in the office and does not require and operating room.
They are a new treatment that can relieve pain and possibly postpone reconstructive total joint surgery.

Viscosupplementation injections provide relief for osteoarthritis of the knee. They are given by injection in the office and require a short time of limited activity. Injections are given once a week over a three week period of time.
Sports Medicine Treatments And Rehabilitation
Dr. Gonzalez received specialized training in Sports Medicine at the United States Military Academy at West Point, and has instructed numerous Residents and Fellows in the treatment of sports related conditions and injuries. He has also treated many Professional and Collegiate Sports teams throughout his career. His main focus is treating and caring for the athlete and prolonging their sports careers at every level. His philosophy is to maximally utilize physical rehabilitation methods and proceed with surgical treatment as necessary.
Subchondroplasty Procedure
Subchondroplasty is a relatively new procedure for joint preservation. It is most commonly used around the knee joint when there is an insufficiency or stress fracture present. The procedure involves injecting a calcium based material into the fracture site to stimulate healing and a significantly decreased recovery time as compared to previous treatments that were available. This is an outpatient procedure with a short recovery time.
Cortisone Injections
We offer cortisone injections to decrease inflammation from various conditions like arthritis, bursitis, and tendinitis. Most injections are given over a three month period and require very little down time. Activities can be resumed in 24-48 hours after the injection.
